Buschy Tail
Training Bumpers
Chris
Buschy is a longtime bird hunter and dog trainer. Over the years he has
trained several Brittany Spaniels and has discovered the benefits and
realism of scent training. When he first started training, Chris used
several pheasant tails wrapped in duct tape and enjoyed the enthusiasm that
the dogs showed for the real feathers. Unfortunately, this tool did not
withstand the test of time and he had to repeatedly make new ones. A few
years ago, Chris came up with combining feathers with an actual training
dummy. He then designed a product that would hold real, replaceable feathers
inside the training dummy with feathers protruding from one end like a bird
tail. The user can easily remove old feathers and insert new ones when
needed.
Buschy Tails are dog-training devices used for training dogs to
retrieve. The dog training devices include a soft, flexible, plastic foam
cylindrical body. The cylindrical body is dimensioned in length and diameter
and also specially weighted to be similar in size to the body of an actual
bird. One end has a female adapter, which can be used to easily insert
feathers for scent training. Finally, the outside of the dummy is
encased in a nylon bag which is silk-screened to look like a pheasant,
mallard duck, goose, etc. The Buschy Tails training devices come in two
sizes: Regular and our special Puppy Size. Puppy sized dummies are a great
way to get your dog started with scent training right away.
